The 2026 World Abilitysport Youth Games officially opened, with competitions getting underway on the first day. Hong Kong athletes made an early appearance in Para fencing, where LEE Sheung Ho competed in the Men’s Sabre Individual Category A (U23) and finished in 11th place. Lee recorded three wins and two losses in the pool stage to advance to the table of 16. However, he was defeated in the elimination round and was unable to progress further.
In Para badminton, Hong Kong, China newcomer WAI Ian, who will be making his international debut, has successfully completed the classification process and confirmed his eligibility to compete. He has been training with teammates in preparation for the upcoming matches.
