In the men’s singles SU5 (U21) Para badminton round-robin, Hong Kong, China’s LAW Ka Fung secured his first victory by defeating Turkey’s Kerim Kiyak in straight sets (2–0). LAW concluded the event with one win and one loss, with his final ranking pending the results of other competitors. Meanwhile, WAI Ian, partnering with Chinese Taipei’s Zi-An HUANG, fell 0–2 to India’s Potnuru Prem Chand and Harshit Rajput in their second men’s SH6 doubles (U21) round-robin match. The pair will play their final match tomorrow.
Para fencing Satellite Tournament also got underway. In the Men’s Epée individual Category A, LEE Sheung Ho and LAI Chi Hang both advanced to the round of 32 but were eliminated, finishing 21st and 22nd respectively. LEE later competed in the Men’s Sabre Individual Category A, defeating his opponent in the Table of 32 to reach the Table of 16, where he was defeated by German fencer, finishing 16th overall. Making her debut, TANG Ching Ching impressed in the Women’s Foil Individual Category A, reaching the Table of 8 before losing to opponent from Iraq, ultimately placing 5th.
